Anyhow, this year I didn't got any spot for the UTMB so despite being a bit sad, and a bit injured as well.... I looked for possible future races that would cheer me up and make my day. One race is already scheduled for November 2025 since months ago and it is once again the Kullamannen 100 miles. The goal with this one will be to run better than 2024 and run under 25h. The other goal and actually the only "A-Race" for the 2025 will be the Adamello Ultra Trail 100 mile race. Well, the race is actually a 170k race with approx. 11.500m of elevation gain! This race was on my bucket list for years and this year I will do my best to enjoy every step of it! The road to that one will be a tough one. There is a gigantic preparation for me to withstand the AUT 170km race and use all the knowledge that I posses in order to execute properly that race.
Other than these events, I will run the Göteborgsvarvet once again just to enjoy the event and boost a bit my legs into a speedy world. Interval training and a bit of speed is always welcome in order to improve my cardio vascular system! Why not!? :)
In order for me to gain the necessary fitness and improve my nutrition strategies and gain some solid foundation into my mind strength, I am going to need a few other races that I will use as preparation for the Adamello race. So, I was thinking to choose something of these fine events:
- the Aplaca Race here in Gothenburg in June - a 10 loop choice that would give me 106 km and ca. 6000m of elevation where I could refine my hike technique as well as my nutrition strategies - the BBUT (Bunketorp Backyard Ultra Trail) in Augusti where I had always had good results and got an amazing care by the organizers of the event. The goal during such event would be to focus on the mental game as well as the nutrition aspects of the race that I often fail during such races against my better judgment. I know better! :)
- I would really like to run something lovely in April just for fun. Something around the distance of 50k. Just to feel a bit more the distance and enjoy the camaraderie of other fellow runners during the race. Any ideas? Please suggest..... ;)
Have fun out there and enjoy the outdoors!
Kind Regards,
Aramis
