Running with Aramis
Welcome to the "Running with Aramis" group.
This group is a Facebook-born initiative created by a fellow runner that started a while ago a group named "Tillsammans löpning" (running together). The idea was to offer a safe-running experience for all the people that are maybe scared or feel discomfort running alone in the woods, during the night or running in unknown places.
After years of running in the area I feel very comfortable to guide all levels of runners in the woods around Gothenburg. Sometimes it's nice to run alone but often I do appreciate to share trails with other fellow runners. We do adapt the tempo to the lowest so that even the slowest runners may feel good running with the group. After years of running I learned to appreciate the slower pace running that gave me a lower amount of injuries and my running results got better, the consistency in the training volume is much better and I feel happy when running longer distances without crushing my body. Don't get me wrong, I do like the speed and the amazing feeling when running fast. But nowadays I usually avoid intensive training sessions like intervals and usually allow some faster sections (fartlek) during my long runs. I do try to avoid these faster segments when running with other runners. :)
Everybody is free to join this group and feel free to open an event and organize something lovely. The only important guideline is that NOBODY is to be left alone or in an unpleasant situation. Everybody has to feel "OK" with the speed and difficulty of the trail. Sometimes we offer a post-run snack/coffee. :)
