After months of proper training volume I decided to change a bit my training and slightly lower my running mileage adding other training into the equation.

A few months ago a friend of mine talked a lot about his ideas and plans for the Backyard season in Sweden and the idea of braking new records. Talking about it was interesting and at the end quite tempting but I never applied to that race. However, months later I got a notice on Facebook that new spots were given and at the end I was there applying to the race.

This is definitely not a "A-RACE" in my calender, still I will use it as a pretty good preparation for my next race - the Lavaredo Ultra Race.
The race will start during the evening hours where I usually suffer getting into the night. I will definitely use this event to test a few new things. I will try to race smart and properly and stick to my nutrition plan that worked really well during my last 3-4 races.

Anyways, it's another Backyard Ultra race. You can never predict the outcome of these races. Anything may and usually will happen..... ;)

The backyard ultra is a form of ultramarathon race where competitors must consecutively run the distance of 6706 meters (4.167 miles) in less than one hour. When each lap is completed, the remaining time within the hour is typically used to recover for the next hour's race.

Exactly one hour after a backyard ultra's first starting time, the competitors run an additional 6706 meters with a one-hour window for completion. These distance loops are repeated hourly. The race ends when the last runner or runners either concede or fail to finish the distance within the allotted time frame.

The race location is just 35-ish km from where I live, so it's really easy for me to adjust to the race logistics.

I have a good year of running and I feel good. I had issues, like every runner. I had and still have some trouble with my tendons and ligaments but nothing that stopped me. I had to adjust to the issue and try to better my running form (work in progress)...

Still, a race is a race and strange things might and probably will happen! :)

The race will start at 06:00 p.m. the 3rd June (18:00 CET).
