Another lunch run.
I took my GoPro with me and played a bit with it! I had just approx. 45 minutes to use for my run before my next meeting, so I was in a bit of a hurry.
I felt a bit lazy today. The weather was grey for weeks now, the humidity at top levels as well and running was quite a challenge in the muddy trails. So I choose those easier trails, gravel roads and paved roads when needed. The pace was slower than usual for months now. The idea was and still is to get my training done while avoiding unnecessary stress on my body. Just maintaining the overall good form and avoiding injuries of course.
During these days while the pandemic is testing our intelligence, our discipline and our fitness as well we need to have a proper balance in everything we do. We need to maintain a proper fitness level just in case the virus should get us but we love the sport and we really hope that the social aspect of it will return. I miss my races, I love everything about them! That is one of the reasons why I still log approx 100k every week (well, I'm trying). I don't reach my goal every week. I my energy level is overall low, if I have a bad "feeling" or if my sleeping was bad I just avoid running that day, or choose to do something else instead. There is plenty we can do to stay in shape. Sleeping properly is one valid choice! :)
As stated before, the weather was cloudy, high humidity, it's raining almost every single day but it's still warm. It's unusually warm for November here in the Gothenburg area in Sweden.
Go out, train, enjoy the nature but please respect the surroundings (I hate to see the amount of garbage left in the woods) and stay safe.... these are challenging times but we need to have patience! Eventually and hopefully all this "chaos" will end and we will soon return to a world similar to the one that we remember. Still, it's never be the same.... we have to accept that!
Enjoy this short clip.... I did! :)
The Änggårdsbergen nature reserve offers a varied landscape featuring valleys and ridges, winding walking paths, lakes and beautiful scenery.
This is the place where I recharge my energy levels and feel really good. It's a green area just five minutes from both my home and work. Sometimes I run into the woods during my lunch break where I feel the need to relax a bit.
Running and hiking in Änggårdsbergen can be challenging as well. The area offers easy gravel paths where you can walk with kids and tough wild trails as well where you may challenge yourself while running or mountain biking. If that is not enough feel free to challenge yourself and discover the area! :)
The varied ecological environment and fauna contains several examples of nature typical of Western Sweden, such as heath land and moorland. Änggårdsbergen lies next to the Botanical Gardens and stretches from the green parks of western Gothenburg towards the nature area Sisjön, south of the city of Mölndal.

My new video on YouTube!
A 1h long UNCUT version of the #trailvarvet race in Gothenburg. 😀
"Yeah right.... so you are not gonna run the Trailvarvet"!?? - asked my wife weeks ago! :P
The thing that she didn't know was that I had another idea of the whole thing!
After I finished my 8h in the office I went running back home - like I usually do. BUT! There was this LOVELY event right in the middle of the course back home.... and I had a gimbal and a GoPro in my hand!
Coincidence? NO! Not at all!!! 😁
I wanted to run the trails "alone", kinda "outside" the competition, enjoy the race, give love to the fellow runners and film it all as good as it gets. Well, the last downhill was never filmed because my battery died! But I'm happy that I decided to turn back from that hill and on my way back home give much love, kudos, high fives to the runners.... it was fun! 😀
I hope that I helped somebody as well! 😉
Have fun running out there and smile! 😄
ENJOY! ;)
If you follow me on Strava you know that my training is getting tougher and it's not always easy to combine a full time job, family and training done in a proper way. Still, I do what I can in order to do my best and enjoy life as well!
During this weekend I ran two long runs with different intensity, shoes and difficulty level. One with hill reps and the other with good elevation as well but with more rest in middle of the hills - like a roller coaster.
I made a nice video as well of the section that I cleaned after the Aktivitus Trail race 161k! That trail is one of my favorite in the area! Feel free to enjoy it on YouTube! :D
This section is one of my favorite sections when I run around the Mölndal area near the city of Gothenburg. Just minutes from where I live there is this paradise of lovely trails, stunning nature and good climbs as well.
I have to say that the trails were in great conditions and almost free from human garbage! Great! :)
Feel free to contact me if you'd like a tour in that area or just run a bit together!
I had my ups and downs as in every race, I had to fight my demons and move forward despite the pain, all my issues and breathing problems during the storm and the night! My body was like a balloon but those last 40k were great and I actually loved the race and finished with a smile happy and proud of my new 2h PB! :D
Still, I made errors and I learned a lot during this race! :/
Every race is a new lesson to be learned, a new chapter, a new minimized "life in a window" where we learn something new. The thing we need to master is to have patience, to better accordingly to our possibilities and seek pleasure in tiny victories that make us happy, stronger and provide that energy and motivation to continue in the sport we love with stronger passion and dedication!
See you in 2020!!!
Love to you all!!!
