Why me?
Why should you choose me - a complete "green" runner - to start training with? Why should I introduce you to Trail Running? What is so special with me?

My answer could maybe be: "Nothing"! "I have nothing special to offer! I never won a race, I never obtained a single "top" goal....."
"But I AM working on it!" :)
The thing that I know I can offer to everybody I run with is my experience as a newbie. I can talk about my transformation, about me, how I feel in the woods. I can talk about how running changed my life - how running saved my running! Discuss my mistakes and my choices as an athlete. And than again, while running we usually talk about races, about my race experiences and my "career" in chasing all those great runners..... Well, I started running in September 2013 - everybody knows that - but I was never happy with that until I found the "Ultra Trail Running". Running distances that are longer than the marathon distance is difficult, but at the same time gave me much. I met another me, I had to push myself beyond my limits both physically and mentally and maybe that is why I love those huge distances....

I usually train around the city of Gothenburg and Mölndal. The area is great - Änggårdsbergen, Sandsjöbacka, Bohusleden, Gunnebo just to mention a few spots I love are all just a few minutes from my home!
I met a lot of interesting people while training. I met people with interesting stories, some with health issues, other with family problems, a few with huge running goals.... and a few that "use" the woods as a medicine, just to relax... to find peace!
I run because while running I find my balance.... I feel great! I feel better!....
Sometimes I feel that I could run forever and chase the sun.....
So why coaching? Well, this is something that I would really try to do in my life. I have already motivated some, inspired many, and by doing that I noticed that I have the ability to impact people. I could maybe help somebody?! I really hope so!
So, by helping myself I can help others?!
Seems crazy but that's a fact! I have asthma, but running improved my health and the thing that drives my doctors literally crazy is the fact that while running a 100-mile race I never had the need of taking the medicine! I have food allergies (no soya or beans in my diet) and I am a vegetarian (almost vegan)! I also have two "lovely "Lumbar hernia" monsters that kept me almost still while we lived in Italy. Today, after just 3 years of running I have almost no pain - I usually forget about the problem for several weeks! Incredible right?!! Well, maybe the fact that I went from 115kg (2008) to 80 (I lost 20kg the last 3yrs) helps a little!?? :)
So, how could a "semi-cripple" like me help others or.... "Coach" others in a tough discipline like trail running!??
The answer is maybe simple. My goal is to help a newbie to reach a comfortable level of form (where I find myself right now) in a quite short time. I have tested on me several techniques and I know that we all respond differently. I love to speak about nutrition, lifestyle and life goals. I love to see how my friends improve while we "play" in the woods..... how they enjoy the experience! It's just fantastic! This gives me the energy to do more, much more!

But how should a man like me, with a full-time job and a family manage something like this?
Easily. Every day has 24hrs! I train/run before my work, during lunch breaks and a few evenings combining long runs during my weekends leaving a lot of my time to family and other things in life....
Training and running has to be a moment of peace, of relax. I guess that is the reason why I name my runs as "mantra-runs". I used to injure myself trying impossible things! No way I will repeat those mistakes!I enjoy running, and by doing that I love how my body reacts and adore the tiny feedback's I receive every day!

Recently I started a group that includes almost all the best trail runners of the region - and we do train together sometimes. Lovely Facebook-planned events are scheduled every week.Another project I'm working on is the idea of involving both parents and kids in the woods. So I started the "Kids Night Trail" events and both kids and parents seems to love that. An hour in the woods away from the hi-tech, away from everything - just you and your child! How great, simple and "pure" right!??

I will inform on these projects both here on my site and Facebook: UltraRunning Community Gothenburghttps://www.facebook.com/groups/ultragbg
